Days Bakery has been Baking since 1741. They own 12 bakeries and delis across the UK supplying freshly baked, high quality produce. In light of their recent expansion, they decided to update their branding, photography, packaging and website design. Previously the branding was simple with just a round logo and blue stripes. The owners wanted to maintain elements of the old branding so I took this on board.
They also wanted to maintain a “country, handmade feel” as they felt this separated the brand from the other supermarkets and bakeries. Reflecting this idea in my illustrations and photography was important for building brand transparency and trust. With the logo I included “EST 1741’ and “handmade in Ashwell" to give it an old village bakery feel. The title case is a font from the 1700s, the same century when the company was founded.
